Wayne County Courthouse (Greenville, Missouri)
This 1941 courthouse was designed by the firm of Johnson and Maack. It was built in the new town of Greenville after that town was relocated following the creation of Lake Wappapello. The old town was deemed to be in a highly flood-prone area after the reservoir was created, so the community was moved to the northeast to higher ground. The old site of the Wayne County Courthouse can still be visited, but that courthouse no longer stands.
This structure was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
