Tropical Greenhouse Waterfall

I always have difficulty with light and exposure on this waterfall, but I love to experiment. This was a single exposure F/2.0 @ 1/40s ISO 80 (chosen by histogram without flash) using my small Leica compact. It was taken early Friday morning about 7:50 AM. I tried just a little TTL flash (Flash-EV -1 2/3). In Adobe's raw converter, mostly exposure, fill light, black point, and saturation, plus some slight exposure gradients. Next in CS5, addressed noise and sharpening with Topaz plug-ins, then cloned out a couple defects. During most of my photographic life, I previously shunned use of a flash, but recently, the more I experiment, I'm beginning to think it has it's uses. I not completely happy with the result, but perhaps better than without. I know I need more practice. Chicago Botanic Garden Aug 20, 2010 L1120902.dng
