1a zero

A replica of a Japanese Zero is burned by artist Katsushige Nakahashi who is part of a exhibition at the University of Hawaii at Manoa called "Recontructing Memories'. The zero was burned in a tradition of the Japanese obon closing ceremony. The burning symbolizes a spiritual renewal and a parallel to japanese funeral rites.
