Here's one of Northumberland's most iconic scenes - Bamburgh Castle from the dolerite outcrop at dawn.

 

Bamburgh castle has a history going back some 1,500 years although the current building was only completed in the 19th Century. The castle is open to the public - an entrance fee is payable :-( .
