Ever laugh so hard that your sleeve is soaking wet from the tears you have to wipe away? If not, go see Jackass 3D. It's been about a decade since they stormed MTV and they have not lost a step of painful hilarity. Tonight, Heather and I were about to get out to a great italian restaurant in town and some 3D, slow-mo, face kicking fun.

The movie brought back many memories from our early twenties (as it probably did for the cast of Jackass as well judging by the credit sequence at the end). We used to have Jackass watching parties with all of my friends down in SoCal, and we looked forward to new shows as religiously as I did recently with Lost. What Jackass represents to me is more than disgusting pranks and painful pseudo-stunts. It's about a youth that had all the possibilities in front of it, but it chose to blaze their own path, on their own terms, and at their ball breaking speed.

I've had a fairly extreme decade since high school. I went to four schools, got two degrees, tried to make a film, wrote several screenplays, got a studio at the beach, got laid off, got engaged then married. I've spent 2am sleeping in a bath tub in New York. I've also spent it partying with the Hong Kong elite while dizzy from the jetlag. I've moved 6 times physically and only twice mentally. I have a wife, a daughter, a dog, a house, a car, a job, a camera, an obsession with tech, and dreams that are too ambitious for my own good. I've fallen, failed, fouled, and fought. But I've also grew and learned and forced myself into moments that scared my conscious mind.

But when you sum everything up, all you need is a loving girl willing to not-so-fake punch in the face while you're wearing dorky 3D glasses. Life is about having fun, making the ones you love laugh, and doing what you want to do at the pace that fits you. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
