Smooth Green Snake
In Central Wisconsin, some smooth green snakes develop a tan coloration, which is not seen in other areas. Presumably to help them blend in with the sand and brown vegetation. In this area they range from bright green to completely tan.
Opheodrys vernalis, Black River State Forest, 9 June 2018.
