Excessive Ice Storm

On March 4th here in my neck of the woods we got "significant icing" which amounted to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch depending on the spot. This brought down limbs by the dozen and we were without power for 24+ hours. It was a long and cold night. I felt like I was in London during the war - transformers were blowing up all around our neighborhood all night as the limbs came down (of course our section was the only down for 24 hours, everyone else was an hour or two here and there). You'd see balls of light and hear the explosions which usually happened in a 3 or 4 burst sequence. Sometimes things burned so then you'd smell smoke... well it was a LONG night. However the ice was SO pretty I couldn't resist taking some pics in the morning when it finally was daylight.

Assignment 1. Excess. Nothing exceeds like excess, and this week we want to see what that means. Tag with cwd601.
