"Get Out of the Road"
As I was taking this image I had some help from two slightly inebriated young men who happened to be passing by. They commented about my position in the street; commented about "do you use aperture and sh$t"; "you must be really good". I showed them the results of an earlier image and they were quite congratulatory on some "fine sh$t", dude.
I was doing fine waiting on cars to pass for a few light trails. However, my newfound friends decided that stopping cars so I could take pictures without getting ran over would be a neighborly thing to do. So I continued on snapping away figuring they would eventually tire of the situation and move on. This particular image is the last one of the day. The light trails are from the car who honked at my friends and yelled, "get out of the road", before driving around the two characters who were so helpful. My defenders moved on eventually, and I wrapped up for the day.
Wherever they happen to be I wish them well. They were hitchhiking across the United States from west to east. Ah, young and adventurous.
