Webb Bridge

(2012) 365 Day Project Day 316

Taken on Sunday night during a photowalk with Andrew. Started at Station Pier for the sunset, then did some tail lights on the Westgate Freeway, then ended up at Webb Bridge, near South Wharf. This is a much photographed walk bridge linking the two sides of the Yarra. I wanted to try to capture it a little differently so tried to include the curve of the wall in the frame.

This is a three shot merge tonemapped in Photomatix. It has created an interesting effect with the lights reflected in the water due to the 3 long exposures and then the tonemapping.

This was one of the most disappointing nights of shooting I have had, one where you question what it is you are doing and it leaves you with a very dispirited feeling. It has taken me all week to start processing the nights shots as I am so negative about what I took. This is one of only about 3 shots, out of about 120) that I am anywhere near happy with from the night.
