I bought this dress at an Ecumenical charity flea market (Katulähetys) in Riihimäki, Finland a couple of years ago. I was thrilled to find explanation to the trademark 'marothodi' @ Lonely Planet Botswana & Namibia (2010): "Set up as cooperative in 1978 for disadvantaged women...".

 

'Marothodi' refers to "the royal capital of a Tlokwa chiefdom, the metal-producing ancestors of a community who live today in South Africa and Botswana" atikkam.com/marothodi/main.html
