dwarf cherry
i succumbed and bought a dwarf cherry tree 'hedelfinger' from stratford market, east london, £20 only to find it doesn't self pollinate. i've searched online and found a compatible pollinating mate. looks like i'll have to get it otherwise no cherries. i'm happy to do that, great to look forward to. i've still got to repot it

i've been assured it is self fertile even though i was more than happy to buy another dwarf cherry tree to pollinate it.
thompson & morgan www.thompson-morgan.com/p/cherry-patio-duo-hedelfinger-du... have confirmed it's self fertile but elsewhere i've read that it's not. for the moment i'm staying at one. i'm still wondering if the quality of the cherry might be better if i partner it with a pollinating tree. i'll give it some thought ... i've decided not to worry. the birds will probably eat the cherries anyway :)
i've repotted. and it looks beautiful. glad i bought it
for many years my garden was a shrubbery flic.kr/p/Lhv9ag which i loved. a picket fence covered in an ivy hedge coming down in a storm flic.kr/p/2gnCyih meant that over time changes had to happen flic.kr/p/2mn2x8a i'll be glad when the trellis is covered in honeysuckle and jasmine. that's the plan ...
