i read a recipe for homemade vanilla extract and thought that's tempting. i use madagascan vanilla extract from sainsburys at the moment in sticky toffee pudding, carrot cake and rice pudding. i'm sure i'll find other recipes for the homemade vanilla extract :)
once prepared the vanilla extract will be ready in six months. christmas cooking preparation will have homemade vanilla extract added to give the food a festive kick :) flic.kr/p/2paTMup
yesterday i bought the ingredients from sainsburys but they didn't have the storage bottle i was looking for. i'll get that later

no need to buy a special container. a tube is provided in the Taylor & Colledge box
a 1/3rd of a cup of vodka in the tube and both sliced vanilla pods placed inside the vodka filled tube is fine.
i didn't realise until later. could have saved myself a lot of bother flic.kr/p/2owyceU ah well. i know for next time :)
