what is it?

thats the question that I hope to answer at some stage in the future.

no point in studying the fruit too much at this stage but i will be looking at it carefully when it is bigger and ready to pick.

This was a discounted apple tree from Irish Seedsavers. It had lost its label so it was rather cheaper than it would have been if it had its label attached.

I know that it is an Irish Heritage apple variety, but without any label, I dont know which one and I dont know what rootstock it is on so I dont know whether it will be a big tree or a small tree. I dont even know if it is a cooker or an eater.

My label says "UK UK" i.e. unknown Scion, unknown rootstock

I actually have several such trees - 2 from Irish Seedsavers and 3 from a friend (I know that these 3 are all Irish heritage desert apples from a list)

I am the repository for lost label apple trees! But it could be fun to get names on them eventually. ...I could resort to DNA testing if I am really stuck/unsure but that would be (sort of) cheating and quite expensive!

For the 125 pictures in 2025 group: number 44. Guess what?
