SIHANOUKVILLE, Cambodia (July 28, 2012) Lt. Elizabeth Aban listens to the heartbeat of a Cambodia boy during a surgical civic action project (SURGCAP) at Hun Sen Cheungokor Primary School for Pacific Partnership 2012, 28 July. The SURGCAP was used to screen patients for possible surgery on board the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Pacific Partnership, an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance mission now in its seventh year, brings together U.S. military personnel, host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build stronger relationships and develop disaster response capabilities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
