SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 8, 2012) Damage Controlman 1st Class John Follis leaves the flight deck after testing the aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) firefighting system aboard the forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). Tortuga is a part of the Essex amphibious ready group and is preparing to participate in Balikatan 2012, an annual bilateral exercise designed to improve interoperability between the U.S. and Armed Forces of the Philippines.
