EAST CHINA SEA (July 28, 2020) Ensign Wiliam Gilchrist, from Salida, Colo., uses a laser range finder on the port bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) to determine the distance between Germantown and the dry cargo ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11) during a replenishment-at-sea. Germantown, part of America Expeditionary Strike Group, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serves as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
