SUBIC BAY, Philippines (Oct. 7, 2019) Lt. Meagan Barron, assistant operations officer aboard the dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), center, coordinates with members of the Philippine Navy and Philippine Marine Corps during a pre-sail conference for exercise KAMANDAG, held in the Germantown wardroom. Germantown is currently on its first deployment and part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) team and is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to support regional stability, reassure partners and allies, and maintain a presence postured to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
