GULF OF ALASKA (Sept. 16, 2019) Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1665, attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 1, approaches the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) to conduct operations as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
