The Bay City Police Department increased their annual collections by an amazing 200 percent.
Their dedication stems from a firsthand understanding of the need. When one of the department's officers was injured in an auto accident, the police department hosted a special blood drive, encouraging the community to donate or volunteer.
The chairperson, Captain Christella Rodriguez, schedules all of her donors and welcomes and thanks donors on the day of the drive.
