Needville Continues Its Commitment
Registered nurse Rhonda Bieneck has been overseeing blood drives at Needville High School for four years. The school now hosts three blood drives a year.
“These kids are amazing," says Rhonda "They always ask: 'When do we get to have another blood drive? I want to save three lives again.'
"Some of them are scared, especially if they haven’t done it before. But they do it anyway. Others get upset if they don’t weigh enough and can’t donate. They make sure they eat enough that day.
“Some volunteers will arrive at 6 in the morning to help set up the gym for the blood drive.”
