Old and New on Loch Ness
While visiting the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland, I noticed a modern speed boat - it seemed so incongruous in this timeless setting. Under the dramatic, brooding clouds, the world keeps changing.
"Places don't matter to people anymore. Places aren't the point. People are only half present where they are these days. They always have at least one foot in the great digital nowhere."
~ Matt Haig
"He went down again into the darkness and seclusion of the wood. But he knew that the seclusion of the wood was illusory. The industrial noises broke the solitude ... man could no longer be private and withdrawn. The world allows no hermits." ~ D.H. Lawrence
