I'm gonna mail myself to you!
"I'm gonna wrap myself in paper
I'm gonna daub myself with glue
Stick some stamps on the top of my head
I'm gonna mail myself to you
I'm gonna tie me in a little red string
I'm gonna tie blue ribbons too
Climb up into my mailbox
I'm gonna mail myself to you
When you find me in your mailbox
Cut the string and let me out
Wash the glue off of my fingers
Stick some bubble gum in my mouth
Take me out of my wrapping paper
Wash the stamps off of my head
Pour me full of some ice cream soda
Tuck me into a nice warm bed"

This post came about all because I needed a *box* to mail some very old diaries from a Great Great Aunt up to my sister
in New Hampshire.
When I went searching in the garage, I came across the most wonderfully sturdy container which was perfect for my purpose! Attached to the outside were these fabulous stamps which I couldn't bare to remove, so carefully covered them in cellophane and added another layer of removable stock so my sister could have an added surprise on the outside as well as on the inside!
I especially love that I was able to repurpose the box in such a fun way, and that it had originally come to me from a dear flickr friend!
