rounding up memories from long ago

I've been sewing some masks, but didn't have any elastic . . .

 

However, in the back of my mind, I remembered this retro sewing basket I had purchased at an antique store years ago . . . why? . . . because I just HAD to have it! Well, turns out the cord was just too tight for my masks, but oh, what a great photo op!

 

Back to my machine! I'm going to try stretchy cords now,

cut from an old pair of jersey lounge pants!
