Time lapse experiment #1
My first experiment with time-lapse photography. Just some clouds moving from left to right...
Input:
7 seconds per frame
~1500 frames (I cut a few out for the video)
approx. 3 hours of shots
Output:
30 frames per second
210x speed
Equipment:
Rebel XT
Phottix Nikos timed remote (ordered from Ebay)
Software:
Assembled with FrameByFrame web.mac.com/philipp.brendel/Software/FrameByFrame.html
(Tried it with iMovie, but its not really build for it and couldn't really set 1 picture = 1 frame...)
Issues:
Phottix Nikos doesn't seem to work with intervals less than 5 seconds. I suspect it sends some signals that the Canon is interpreting as pre-focus signals or something... in any case, if the interval is set to less than 5 seconds a lot of the photos end up not getting taken. Haven't seen this reported on the web, but reviews are pretty rare and the ones I've seen were for the Nikon or Canon 20D-series versions.
FrameByFrame crashes with too many high-res images. Had to down-res the images to get it to work with the full video.
