Staying Warm Running
@dailyshoot: 2010/01/13: Make a photo of something you wear to keep yourself warm and/or dry: coat, gloves, scarf, hat, you name it! #ds59
I've been training since August to run the PF Changs 1/2 Marathon in Phoenix (this Sunday!). Doing most of my runs here in Strawberry AZ (6000 foot elevation) has meant donning something more than shorts and a t-shirt in December.
Yes, Virginia, there is winter weather in Arizona.
I had a few runs below 40 degrees, but nothing like the Frosticles stuff those Crazy Canadians deal with. I've not been out in an "minus" temps. Crazy!
So at its coldest, I run in a long sleeve polypro top, over a lycra type shirt, and these lightweight Nike pants, a wool hat, and gloves. Its not much, but when I am running, the moving parts stay warm.
The last few weeks have not been as cold, and most of my afternoon runs are in the 60s, so I dont need this stuff.
