George Lake

We had to make our way back down to George Lake, and we followed the lake out, back to the George Lake campground where we parked. The trek out was fun, as we almost skied down on our snowshoes at one point, but then got gruelling as we had to bushwhack out to the lake from the base of this mountain we "skied" down. The hike back along the lake was one of the more challenging things I have done physically, as I was so extremely tired, and my legs were in pain. Each step was pain. We made it across George Lake so quickly in the morning, but now was different. We both took turns asking for breaks. We finally made it back to the car, after being out on the hike for 10 hours. Only 4.5 hours of driving before Pat was home, and another 30 minutes for me. I slept extremely well once I did lay down in bed. And even though I wanted the hike to end by the time we reached George Lake, I would not have changed a single detail of the hike if I did it again. What an experience!
