The hydropower plant is part of the 38-megawatt School Street Hydroelectric Project owned and operated by Erie Boulevard Hydropower LP, a subsidiary of Brookfield. School Street Hydroelectric is a Heritage Award-winning site, as distinguished by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. The project harnesses the power of the Mohawk River to provide renewable power to New York State.
