He has seen the movies twice. We're reading the novels now (those inspired by the original trilogy - "From the adventures of Luke Skywalker" by George Lucas, "The empire strikes back" by Dobald F. Glut and "Return of the Jedi" by James Kahn). This reading must have inspired him to draw this.
