Shanghai - Nanhui District, Village Panorama
Village Panorama, Shanghai, Nanhui District (上海市南汇区), taken back in November 2003. Stitched from 4 pictures, horizontal field of view about 180°.
So, yet another "blast from the past", some development happened in the meanwhile, read on:
This place is a victim of traffic development, details: Expansion of that left-to-right canal in front of the viewer and a new, still unnamed and unnumbered 4-lane road. During this development the place was razed for the construction of a bridge (Y8 Bridge) for that new 4-lane road (which actually ends in the middle of nowhere just slightly north and south of here).
I was standing on a small bridge of the 大芦线南路 (Daluxian nanlu aka no. C888 road ) leading from right to left, now there is an abutment of that 4-lane bridge and the mouth of the canal that small bridge was crossing was moved to the right.
Over the years many things happened in Nanhui, including the building of a huge artificial lake (that was just in planning back in 2003).
And the former Nanhui District is now integrated into the Pudong New Area.
