Cambridge Women Celebrate 2

Cambridge women celebrate their victory over Oxford at Quintin Boat Club, Mortlake.

 

The Cambridge women secured their eighth consecutive win in the 79th Women’s Boat Race, extending their overall lead to 49–30. The men’s crew also retained their title in the 170th edition of the event, recording their 88th win to Oxford’s 81.

 

The Boat Race is an annual rowing event between Oxford and Cambridge universities raced in eights over a 4.2-mile (6.8 km) stretch of the River Thames between Putney and Mortlake in west London. Crews are known as ‘blues’, with Cambridge racing in light blue and Oxford in dark blue.
