Trying "co-washing" : Day 6

That's where you use conditioner as a mild hair cleanser instead of washing with shampoo. Expensive versions include Wen and Sally Beauty's Hair One, but many people prefer the cheap stuff (V05, Suave, or White Rain) because it often doesn't have silicones and it's cheap and easy to find.

I wanted to stop using shampoo because I think it's silly to strip the natural moisture and oils out of my hair and then use conditioning chemicals to put moisture back in. The result was always dry, dull flyaway hair filled with static or overly-moisturized limp hair. Ugh. Also, I'm hoping that skipping the shampoo will keep my henna hair nice and auburn.

With my low quantity of super fine, oil prone hair, it's taking some testing to find a conditioner that works, but at 88 cents to $1.50 per bottle, it's not going to get too expensive.

Maybe someday I'll go completely natural no-poo and use baking soda to clean and vinegar to condition :)
