The Flatiron Special

The Full Cold Moon hovers over the snow-covered summit of Mount Audubon (13,229 ft; 4,032 m) in the Indian Peaks Wilderness and a brief flash of sunrise color brings the Flatiron Formation into sharp relief, near Boulder, Colorado.

At this point I have photographed the full moon over the Flatirons a number of times. I find each experience compelling, and sometimes I have human company, and most often I do not. The mutt is a constant companion and now over 10 years old. He's probably seen more sunrises with me than anybody else, and all outward signs indicates he enjoys himself probably more than I do. In any event, in all likelihood the ever-changing nature of this particular vista will no doubt draw me in again sometime soon. It helps that it is less than a 10 minute drive from where I live.
