Svartifoss Rainbow
Columnar basalt creates an organ pipe effect and frames the beautiful drop of Svartifoss in Skaftafell National Park, Iceland. The abundant spray created a rainbow for a few minutes when the sun angle was just right.
Similar to what I've seen in the U.S. and in many other countries, tourists here were not fond of sticking to the established routes, obeying the 'Area Closed' signs, or really bothering to read the Park use guidance whatsoever. In fact, a gentleman stood right next to the 'No Drones' sign flying a drone. I suppose this sort of behavior goes hand in hand with the desire to 'figure it out' rather than read the instruction manual or follow a recipe. However, when it comes to tourism in delicate places, this sort of mindset results in a slow degradation of the experience one has come to seek.
Happy Earth Day to all, and our dear Mother needs us to think of her every day!
