Autumnal Offering

A clone of Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) between Lost Lake and Kebler Pass, Colorado, shine brightly in the morning sun. The aspen are fabulously beautiful in the high country of the Colorado Rockies, producing a rich palette of yellows, oranges, and even into the reddish end of the spectrum. This while a good many of the clones are completely leafless, and yet more are still a mix of green and yellow. I could have happily gone backpacking for a week!
