Swanage Railway, Corfe Castle - 21st July 2010 13:31

Another image from the preserved line of the Swanage Railway. This time the train had just arrived at Corfe Castle, awaiting departure for the last mile or so, before it wends it's way back down to Swanage.

I always love how preserved railways always take the whole sense of heritage very seriously, so much detail goes in to the look of stations, including the fences used, the signage, the old railway posters and advert boards, and piles of old luggage and milk urns finish it off nicely.

This image is SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) aside from the usual RAW processing and slight capture sharpening, and so far the only image from here that I have decided not to convert to Black & White.

For those in the UK, the Swanage Railway, and both Corfe Castle and Swanage stations was featured at the start of last nights episode of Coast, which is back on our screens for another series.

This shot is partly inspired by Jude's lovely images from the Severn Valley Railway, of which her images including this type of luggage seemed to stick in my mind.
