Prepping the materials to go into the attic. Eventually this included a fan, a lamp, and a radio. You can see the 12" forged (NOT cast) steel 2000lb bolt on top of the yellow extension cords. And the drill press attached to my drill, to ensure that everything goes in at a perfect angle. Man is that thing unwieldy.

BACKSTORY: We decided to install some hardpoints into our ceiling. We got some boards and a saw from Home Depot so that we can block our joists to reinforce them.

The blocking was more annoying than we thought. We didn't notice the angle on the blade was set at 15 degrees and not 0, so most of the edges of our 16-inch boards were not flat. 3 out of 4 tested still fit, but the rest had to be trimmed. Nailing them in was a bit awkward. Definitely not "true" edges. But blocking (reinforcing) our joists was really just done as a redundant safety feature.
