20080207 - tile store revisited - 151-5196 - Armstrong Excelon tile versus sample

After we got our tiles home, we took a look at them. Then I licked one, because when else can you do that and have it not be dirty? Opportunity only knocks once -- when life gives you lemons... You lick them.

Anyway, we were NOT happy with the fact that the color in the actual Armstrong tiles seemed a lot less vibrant than the color in the sample. The sample was what we wanted, and we felt a bit gyped. So we brought a tile to the store, found the sample, and took a few pictures. The samples come with a disclaimer that the color might not be an exact match, but the difference was quite pronounced to us. So don't trust Armstrong samples. They certainly seem to make their samples as misrepresentative as they can legally get away with.

At least in this picture they look almost the same. But this photo is mis-leading; the difference is much more pronounced via the human eye.
