Album Cover Art The Assignment:

I've seen many photographs that look as though they would make excellent album covers, despite not having any musical instruments or literal clues to music in them.

For this week's assignment you should create an image that could be used as the album cover for a fictitious artist's forthcoming album.

The cover doesn't need to have musical instruments in it or any obvious signs of music. It can be colour, black and white, abstract, heavily post processed etc. Basically you should use whatever technique and approach you think makes sense for the fictitious artist and album you have imagined.

Restriction

No text to be added to the photo/image in post processing. This assignment is just to create the photograph/image that will be used at a later stage to create the album cover.

Dare

Provide some information about the fictitious artist and album you have imagined in order to create this week's assignment image.

WIT: Although I am decidedly not a country music fan, I thought it would be fun to give a country-western entry to this assignment. This is a nod to women in country music like Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn and more contemporary artists like the Dixie Chicks and Carrie Underwood. I think women in country music have almost created their own sub-genre. So I shot this hat and lacy lady camisole, increased brightness and contrast with a watercolor filter and added the soft frame to give a square shape as an album cover would be.
