Remembering May 4, 1970

Candles alight a memorial to the four students killed at Kent State University 50 years ago, on May 4, 1970, when Ohio National Guardsmen fired on students protesting President Richard Nixon's decision to bomb Cambodia. In the background, young women stand vigil at the spots where two of the dead students, Allison Krause and Sandy Scheuer, were shot. Nine other students were wounded in the13-second barrage.
