Next Man Up

Or is it hired to be fired?

Sean Lewis, a former assistant coach at Syracuse, is the 22nd head football coach at Kent State University, Lewis, 31, and his family were introduced before the Kent State Golden Flashes hosted the Oregon State Beavers in a basketball game at the MAC Center. A graduate of Wisconsin, he becomes the youngest head coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

If Lewis is successful like former coaches Don James, Glenn Mason and, most recently, Darrell Hazel, Kent's 20th coach, he will be hired away to a bigger and better job. If, on the other hand, he struggles like so many Kent coaches, including his predecessor, Paul Haynes, he will simply be fired.
