Water Seekers_Lake Eyre

Lake Eyre is a vast Salt Lake surrounded by at least 3 deserts in Central Australia. Most of the time it is dry. During 2010 and 2011 torrential rains fell in the catchment over many months and after years of Drought,(which I note, should expected in the desert), the rivers flowed once again.

This is taken in June 2011 when I visited the Lake to witness the filling event. I passed this couple as I was retuning to the Lake shore after a seemingly endless walk to water.. I turned to watch them blend with the horizon as they continued another 2km out to where the headwaters were moving in, tide-like over the crystal salt surface.
