A remarkable spot on the northern coast of Corsica known as Balagna (Balagne) is the small fortified town of Algaiola (Algajola), which is served by the CFC branch line from Ponte à a Leccia to Calvi. A CFC Soulé X97050 + XR9700 consist as train 308 of the Calvi-L'Isula Rossa (Ile Rousse) local service (formerly known as "tramways de la Balagne") is observed here from San Damianu harbour. High on the hill above the train, Sant'Antulinu (Sant'Antonino), which is said to be one of the most picturesque villages of Corsica (and France), can be seen, while on the hillside above Algaiola, between San'Anghjelu (Sant'Angelo) mountain to the left and Capu Corbinu mountain to the right, the monastery Saint-Dominique is visible.
