Along Highway 101 just south of the town of Bandon, there is a large outdoor display of what is known as chainsaw sculpting. In this land of lumberjacks and huge trees, chainsaw carving has grown into an art form and some of the pieces are truly fantastic! Popular subjects include Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch) and space aliens as well as mythical figures, but there are also more traditional subjects of fish, eagles, bears that are beautifully carved.
I kind of wish I had taken more time to photograph some of these.
