Le château, dont la première construction remonte au XIIème siècle, fut reconstruit au XVème siècle pour remplacer l'ancien brûlé par les Anglais lors des rudes combats de la guerre de Cent ans. Cette construction terminée au XVIème constitue " le vieux château " avec ses tours couronnées de mâchicoulis et de créneaux, avec ses façades percées de fenêtres à meneaux. Au XVIIème siècle, le vieux château fut agrandi perpendiculairement avec une aile plus basse, classique, couverte d'un toit à la Mansard.

The castle, whose first construction dates back to the 12th century, was rebuilt in the 15th century to replace the former burned by the English during the fierce battles of the Hundred Years War. This construction finished in the 16th century is "the old castle" with its towers crowned with machicolations and battlements, with its facades pierced with mullioned windows. In the 17th century, the old castle was enlarged perpendicularly with a lower, classical wing covered with a Mansard roof.
