One Month Stats
Viktoriya, my wife, is a 'person of great perseverance', to say the least :) Three years ago (three years and three days, - as of today, precisely) she started an on-line project aimed at audience of potential immigrants and newcomers to Canada from the ex-Soviet republics, or, the 'CIS-countries', how they are often called.
Since the time the first publications appeared on the site (vikitravel.ca) it has grown significantly. Viktoriya has been able to attract thousands and thousands 'followers', 'watchers' - or 'active participants', who contribute to the site by sharing their experiences, and discussing 'issues'. Oh my, those (discussions) can get really hot at times! :)
I bet many of those who are 'Canadians by birth' would be interested to 'learn a thing or two' about their country - as it is seen from 'different point of view' - uh, should they be able to digest the content written mostly in Russian :) However, there's a 'Google translate' engine installed there, conveniently enough. And also, Viktoriya has secured cooperation from a few English-language contributors to the site.
Site statistics are impressive. Two pictures posted next here are screen shots showing some graphs and numbers:
Say, for one-month period from January 22 to February 21 (this year) 34,465 visitors have 'stopped by', paying 97,470 'pageviews'. (Picture above)
Three-year stats registered a total of 677,350 visitors and 2.122.998 pageviews'.
There's a steady growth in number of 'New visitors' to the site: for example, about 27% for the same period of Jan. 22-Feb. 21.
I consider a possibility of posting a sort of 'reviews' on some 'hotly debated topics'. In a good ''clashmaking' tradition, of course :)
