VDNKh. 'Aviatsiya & Kosmos'

Here's a place in the world where the previous picture was taken. Moscow, Russia, some 8 km almost due North from Kremlin :) Chech it out on Google map..

Today this place's official name is Vserossiyskiy Vystavochnyy Tsentr ("All-Russian Exhibitions Centre") The first impression, one might get after having visited the 'Centre', could suggest a 'big recreational, amusement, entertainment, educational, commercial park - 'all in one'.

However, originally, (long time ago, in 1939) the park was created with an idea of displaying all the 'grandeur' of the Soviet Union achievements. In late 50s, and 60s, 'Cosmos', or 'Space Exploration' achievements, became no doubt one of the greatest breakthroughs where the country had a world lead for many years.

So, this spot is right in from of the 'Cosmos' pavilion on the 'VVTs' territory. And pointed in the sky is a legendary 'R-7' rocket, exact copy of the same launcher that blasted off in 1961 with the First ever Man in space, Yuri Gagarin.

Although it is not too old picture, the scene has changed this summer. The plane is gone now. And I'll post a few more pictures showing WHERE it has gone to..
