Of Skies and Lines
It's not everyday. I took this picture several times with my camera and several more times with my phone. Then a wiry hipster fellow did the same, telling me I had "inspired him" and "why not?" If I inspired him then kudos to me, but what I saw, what he saw and what you here see is all it should have taken. When you see something familiar in a new, special way it makes you stop for a second... it's simply impossible for that to happen too often, if for no other reason than that once you know something well enough you see it with your mind, and not your eyes - so no matter how you look at it, it becomes harder to see it differently. But it can happen and it really strikes you in those moments. It was neat... it reminds me always to want to see more.
* [NOTE] - my older brother gave me such a good note about this when he looked at some of my photos the other day, so I want to include it here: "What i like so much about [this one] is that you are used to seeing pictures where the skyline takes up so much space . . . , but [here] the skyline is teeny tiny compared to the sky and water, which is a really cool effect."
And so I end with including this, as well: Thank you, Billy. Thanks!
