National Museum of the USAF - B29 Superfortress
The second of the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan to force the end of World War II was dropped from this plane on Aug 9, 1945. That bomb fell on Nagasaki and its crater forms the International Peace Park today (see my photo here: www.ipernity.com/doc/chrislaforet/26949039). I treated this photo with a heavy Bleach Bypass to keep it gritty and grim. The decisions of war are never easy to make and the consequences are dire. The first bomb was dropped by the "Enola Gay" which is pictured elsewhere in my collection on Flickr.
