Hurricane IIB BG967 of 261 Squadron at China Bay, Ceylon 1942. This is a scan from the original print taken by my Grandfather, an aircraft fitter on 261 Squadron who took many photos during his wartime service in the Middle and Far East. I believe this was early 1942, around the time 261 Squadron moved from the Middle East to the Far East to join the campaign in Burma. His note on the back of the print (which I have transposed onto this image using Photoshop) says “261 lined up for Duke of Gloucester visit China Bay, Ceylon”.
