Ultimate Fighters
Billed as “The Ultimate Fighters", this four-ship formation of classic WWII warbirds made a memorable entrance at Airbourne 2019. The team kept an impressively tight formation while flying as a four-ship, splitting into pairs midway through the display with the Spitfire and Buchon (in the guise of a Messerschmitt BF109) performing a tail chase and mock dogfight and the P-47 and P-51 flying more loops and rolls as a pair. Display aircraft are P-47D Thunderbolt 45-49192 'Nellie B' (G-THUN), Spitfire TR.IX ML407 (G-LFIX), TF-51D Mustang 44-14251 ‘Contrary Mary’ (G-TFSI), HA-1112-M1L Buchon (G-AWHH).
